The U13 matches were held at Castell Alun Sports Centre. There was an excellent entry of 16 boys from NEWBA, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Shropshire.

In the singles quarters Shamanth Moodalbyle (NEWBA) lost the first game 11-15 to Prithvi Sekar (Cheshire) but by cutting out errors fought back to win the next 2 games 15-9,15-3. Read moreRead more

With the end of 2014 beckoning, the latest League Tables show Airbus, Flint Phoenix and Mold C in prime divisional positions, whilst Buckley, Northop and Ruthin C struggle to make an impact.

In Division 1 Rossett A came unstuck when they visited Mold A and in a tight fixture went down by 5 – 3. Match of the evening was a thrilling encounter at first mixed which saw Mold’s Pete Walker and Jane Peace raise their performance to get the better of Simon Ellis and Ellie Price in three games 12/21, 21/15, 21/16. In Division 1 outclassed Connah’s Quay crashed 8 – 0 to visitors Airbus. Only Dan Roberts and Mike Cain put up any real resistance in a tight match which saw them go down by 22/20, 15/21, 11/21 to Kris Wood and Ashley Stokes in the first men’s doubles. The entry was not big but it was great to see some of our emerging talent show their developing skills. The U11 boy’s singles final was a  Mold clash and won by  Liam Hird who beat Joe Casey 21-15. Mixed doubles finalist

The North East Wales Badminton Association’s annual tournament was an outstanding success with local clubs well represented. In a closely contested men’s doubles final Greg Taylor and Tom Peace found the pairing of Jonathan Savory and Harry Liver just too strong and despite taking the first game comfortably went down by 15/11, 12/15, 13/15.
The group winners in the Ladies double were Charlotte Ince and Tonicha Font with the runner’s up being Fiona Reid and Heather Astley. Read moreRead more
