Flint Phoenix A continued their push towards top spot in Division 1 when they handed out an 8 – 0 thrashing away to Mold B. Only Lloyd Tranter and Elaine Peirce looked capable of taking an event for Mold when they played inspired badminton against Joe Travers and Vicky Hancock but were eventually edged out by 15/21, 21/16, 15/21. There was a terrific entry of over 50 with players from NEW and Conwy, Cheshire and Warwickshire and some pleasing badminton of a high standard. Mold’s Johan Varghese continues to dominate the U11s. In the singles he beat runner-up Abhishek Aravind (Ch) 21-8 and teamed up with Luke Doughty (CQ) to win the doubles 15-4,15-8 against Aravind and Ramavath (Ch). Read more
The bottom two divisions resulted in wins for Connahs Quay E in Division 5 and Connahs Quay D in Division 4, new club Prestatyn finished third and managed to hold onto their place in Division 4. Read more
The Welsh International 2016 is taking place at the Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff in 2 weeks’ time.

Since the introduction of The NEW way Badminton Project, NEWBA Junior County Squad coaches have been using The NEW way coaching session plans, which are designed to help players achieve the various levels of the Sgiliau Badminton player awards scheme.
We are pleased to announce that all 13 players within the NEWBA B Squad have now achieved their Level 2 of the Sgiliau Badminton Awards.
In Division 1 Rossett B faced visitors Airbus and suffered an anticipated 8 -0 loss with all events over in just two games. At first ladies Vicky Jones and Toyoko Cornelius put up a fight on behalf of Rossett, but were ultimately outplayed by Lyn Brown and Bev Dolman who won comfortably 21//14, 21/14. Read more
