The guest speakers for the day were top Badminton Scotland Coaches Diana Koleva and Julie Hogg, who covered various topics based around the early development of young junior players.
The coaches were encouraged to try out all of the exercises themselves and to involve themselves with the players who attended to help out.
The weekend of the 8/6/13 saw the Special Olympics Welsh Regional Tournament take place in Wrexham. With over 40 competitors from Wales, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Solihull, there was plenty of quality badminton played throughout the weekend. The tournament was successfully run with help from volunteers and organisers from North East Wales.
Events like these show that badminton is a truly all inclusive sport.
In the Badminton Wales U15 National Championships Scott Oates became triple champion winning the boys singles and doubles and the mixed doubles, brother Andrew (U14) was the losing finalist in singles and Dhruv Bansal (U14) was a losing singles semi-finalist. Read more
