Just a week left to get your entry in for the NEWBA Junior Gold Badminton Tournament taking place on 27th January at Glyndwr University in Wrexham. Entries can be made online, via the button below and close on 20th January.
Girls and Boys Singles, Doubles and Mixed Events, with matches for under 13’s, 15’s, 17’s and 19’s. This tournament is part of the Badminton Wales Junior Series.

In Division 1 of the North East Wales Badminton League Flint Phoenix A continue their undefeated run of matches, on this occasion with a close 5 -3 win at the expense of improving Llanferres A. Read more
Anchored at the bottom of Division 1, Mold B had the daunting task of travelling to take on Rossett A and found the home team in top form winning by a convincing 6 – 2. Match of the evening was at first mixed which saw Rossett’s Simon Lane and Sue Lord up against Henry Bohun and Trish Hird. Bohun and Hird took the first game 21/15 but Lane and Lord bounced back winning the second 21/18. Read more
With their new “signings” in top form Llanferres A continued to move up the Division 1 table with a convincing 7 – 1 win over visitors Deeside. It was left until the last match of the evening before Deeside won an event when at second men’s their pairing of Gareth Burroughs and Steve Barlow took on the experienced Llanferres partnership of Dave Markey and Dave Clough. Stephen Davies, a member of Flint Phoenix Badminton Club which plays at Holywell High School, has had a very busy time recently.
He represented Wales in the Special Summer games in Sheffield where he won a silver medal in the men’s singles and achieved fourth place in the men’s doubles. Read more
